Even if I try to play through the game without making a manual save, this bug eventually kills it because each hub requires you to revisit certain maps, thus triggering the error again when it tries to load. The error message "function pointers have moved" would appear on the console right before the shutdown. I thought it was pretty cool until I realized that it would not let me save and reload a game (which makes it a lot more frustrating). I managed to get it working under the normal q2 executable, q2Max, and even q2Evolved.
